...Jetpacks? Floating Islands? What is this, Terraria? I like the realism of this game, and that would ruin it.
Anyway, my suggestion may already be in the roadmap, but I don't remember it. What about the map only showing what you've seen so far? That way, as you explore the island you learn more about it.

I think adding a system where you could catch and tame animals would be great. You could craft a cage to trap these animals. These animals could either be just for cosmetic purposes or could carry items for you or attack enemies.

I don't believe anyone has suggested this yet, but I was thinking co-operative multiplayer. Correct me if this has already been suggested or planned, but I like the concept of working together with pals to survive.

Great game guys. can't wait for future alpha updates.
How about: * creating a distilling device so you can cook saltwater to fresh water * a volcanic area where you find metal rocks which later can be melted into iron etc * change of wildlife during day and night * make a needle and thread (maybe with this you can make custom outfits with pelts and other material) * build cages for dangerous animals (maybe by feeding the dangerous animals over several days they can be your allies?) * Maybe they can reach places you can't, and find awsome items * and the ability to give names to these creatures
In general I think there are too many finished materials lying around (fireplace, chimney, wind sails etc) These are items imo you have to make your self after progressing through the game

Id like to see some humorous sound effects coming from the character like a ouch when hurt and a grunt or two when hungry...etc. That would be funny and cool. Also other sound effects which I imagine are to be planed in future releases of the game like background music and island sounds

I am a big "no" on Rockets they are too advanced, but how about building a frame with a helicopter style blades made out of wood and palm leaves. a little bit of peddle power and you can get a small amount of lift, but wear out the character. pretty sharply. Buckets is a must, perhaps a water tank to collect rain. I saw epic beasts mention in the dev road map and talk of skinning animals, perhaps you get armour from the animals or make trophies or helmets out of the heads of epic beasts with a little bit of tanning One final note, each island should have a history, if no-one has settled there before then there should be no manufactured items. However, if they did and the person died for example perhaps a little hut somewhere with a skeleton in it Loving the game, great work guys.

1. An obvious one which I am sure has been considered is mass/weight of some sort. Currently you can just build 6 work benches and fill them with items and put them inside each other and into your inventory.
2. One thing that just didn't 'feel' right was the crafting/guide. I really badly wanted to just try my luck with crafting, see what combinations I could come up with and see what the results would be, but going into crafting blind at the moment does not get you very far. I made some basic tools, which is good, but the larger and better items are far too specific for trial and error to work very well. Conversely, the recipes gift it to you far too easily. I felt like it was a choice between either not really getting to figure out much or having it all given to me. There needs to be a way that the crafting is given to the player bit by bit, something like crafting one item gives you a better understanding of woodwork, which gives you a new wood working recipe.
3. I am huge fan of the taming/breeding/cultivating ideas, once a player has worked hard to progress there needs to be effort required to maintain. Once you have your beach mansion with all your animals what is there to do other than sit inside away from the weather unless you have to tend the animals, make repairs, gather wood for the fire, supplies, check the outlying areas for native activity, check traps.
4. Multiplayer is a tricky one. Not tricky as in 'should it be added' but more so 'how'. I just wrote a massive thing about it and am just going to make a thread.
5. Tweaks of the cold system maybe? Maybe they are perfect, I don't know. I just think perhaps it shouldn't be so easy to get cold ALL the time, but there be no real consequence anyway. I mean after playing the game for a while I pretty much found you can just ignore the cold and go outside adventuring as long as you come back to the fire at the end, even though by then it has said 'freezing to death' for minutes. I think maybe a bit slower on the cold meter rising, but more severe consequences.
6. On that note the weather does need some tweaking, maybe I have just had some bad luck with my random maps but it seems to just rain all the time, have not seen much sun.
7. I think resources of all kind are going to be the main part of this game. What can I kill/gather and what can I do with it? So in saying that, the larger the variety of plants, animals and resources the better.

Coffee, tea and cocoa would be awesome. And maybe a big variety of fish and plants, where some could be poisonous, and you'd have to keep a log of what fish and plants you can and can't eat.

I love this game so and it has a lot of potential! Some of the ideas I thought might be unique was to give each island its own special environment or a new breed of animal that isn't on any other islands. Someone has already mentioned a volcano but what about a heavily forested island for lumber/Plants or A sunken island filled with underwater caves that could even be filled with a gas that causes illness due to prolonged exposure. I would love to see "Some" Supernatural events though. Like a cursed artifact from a fallen civilization that causes nearby creatures to become ill and die overtime. I would love to be able to discover that lost civilization's history to find a way to cure the cursed artifacts and use them for bountiful harvest instead!

You were talking about giant spiders. Why not? They could be some sort of boss that will attack anything that it sees, and if the natives were fighting the boss, and you kill it, these wild caveman could make you a god to his people, and start doing everything you tell them to do.

I think thrashcans could be nice. Sometimes, I've found myself with stuff I couldn't use, and there is no way to get rid of it, but leave it. Somewhere where it could just disappear would be nice. Maybe being crafted by a single stone block or something.

Well as far as I can tell, all 'used' materials randomly respawn after a certain amount of time. I played a map for a ridiculously long time the other day and when I walked back through an area I had walked through and literally completely cleared it had regrown trees and there was stuff all over the ground again and crabs etc.
So that leads me to believe that if you throw all your junk (unwanted small rocks, wood, bones, whatever) on one page, it should despawn at a certain point?
If anything a trash pit could be interesting, at the moment I just throw everything in holes and the pools at the bottom of waterfalls. Plus they have talked about having like spike pits and maybe even lava pits, when you think about that, filling a spike pit with crap could make it safer and what is a lava pit good for other than a combustion garbage disposal.
