After buying access to the alpha yesterday, and being mightily impressed, I decided to start putting together a wiki for the game! www.undertheoceanwiki.com/It's at a super-early stage and some of the info probably isn't that accurate at the moment, but I'm hoping that's what all of you other players can help with, so feel free to create articles and edit anything that doesn't seem right. These are the pages we have at the moment - I've only been working on it for a few hours last night so far, so there's not much yet: undertheoceanwiki.com/index.php/Special:AllPagesI think it'd be really useful to have all of the crafting recipes, all of the items, creatures, info on the game mechanics, a brief tutorial etc. all in one place, though it may be best to use something in the way of spoiler tags to hide recipes/items that are more for the player to figure out, or be surprised by later on? I was also thinking about having a "known bugs" page on there, so people can check it before the developers have to wade through threads/emails of people reporting the same bug 50 times. I'll sort out a nice site design etc. later on too - but first we need to get lots of info on there. Does anyone want to help, or have any other ideas for the wiki?

We already had a wiki with Wikia. You've put quite a bit of work into yours, it looks like perhaps more than the current one. We could either stick with the current one or copy stuff over. The current one has a few pages and some categories set up for organization purposes (i.e. listing all craftable items on the recipes page, a list of monsters). See: underthegarden.wikia.com/wiki/Under_The_Garden_Wiki

I had a quick Google but didn't spot that there was already one around I'd be happy to do either - or at least share articles across both, perhaps?

I hardly see the need for two wikis. I would prefer using yours as the domain has already been purchased -- IIRC Wikia is free, so the creator isn't out much. However, this isn't my territory to negotiate, and neither are official anyway so it doesn't matter much.
Karmakanadian would be the one to discuss this with.

I would much rather use yours, Wikia has a less-attractive interface and their update cycle is out of our hands - They could force an update at any time and screw our wiki up like they did with their last big update.

Can we get the CategoryTree extension in this wiki? It's useful for listing pages in a category such as listing all craftable items. DPL would work fine too but IIUC it's not as efficient.

I just signed up to the wiki, it looks like you're having a bot problem, so you might want to take a look at setting up a better captcha software or something.
Or at least spend a bit of time getting rid of these bots every so often. So much users talk that I can't find the real meat of the wiki.

I tried creating an account and it just takes me to a blank page when I submit my info. I tried the user name and pass I created and it doesn't work. I'd like to go in and update some of the information on the wiki.

I'd like to go in and update some of the information on the wiki. I'm having the same problem. I initially was just looking for some information on how the layers system works in the crafting menu; bu since the Wiki contained so little (and what little it did contain wasn't current) I decided to sign-up and add some of what I know about the game to the site. That's when I encountered this problem. Also, what's up with your captcha system? Picking out the cats from a line-up is an odd one ...

Thanks SpearMaster, your tutorial was quite helpful!
The only problem I was having with layers was how to move objects between them. However, I discovered that you can do this by selecting the object and pressing PGUP to move to the background and PGDOWN to move to the foreground.
The reason why this took me so long to find out was because it wasn't listed as a control in the input menu of the game configuration screen.

That's a great tip! I had no idea :-) Thanks for letting me know!
